Center for Sustainable Tourism
Indonesia is the largest tropical island country in the world that makes Indonesia as a favorite destination for tourists. Although tourism is the second largest contributor to foreign exchange, but tourism can also cause problems, such as social dislocation, loss cultural heritage, economic dependence and ecological degradation so that it can reduce tourism potential itself. Therefore, sustainable tourism has a positive impact environment, society, and economy, must be improved. The Sustainable Tourism Center will focus on research on green tourism to reduce the negative impact of tourism, maintain a balance between protecting the environment, maintaining cultural integrity, building social justice and promoting economic benefits, while also providing experience high quality for visitors. The Center for Sustainable Tourism will be coordinated by Drs. Djamang Ludiro, M.Sc.
