In Anthropocene era where the system of earth has been influenced by human activities, appeared some of overlap pressure that can affect the sustainability of environment and human welfare in the world. For that reason, United Nation (UN) has made 17 goals for sustainability development – Sustainable Development Goals (TPB/SDGs) and 169 targets for countries including Indonesia that must be achieve in 2030. SDGs can be expected as solution of development that base on human right for stimulate development of social, economy, and environment.
The Idea of establish of Institute for Sustainable Earth and Resource (I-SER) is manifestation of Indonesia commitment and the vision of University of Indonesia for become “the World Class Research University” through science and research. I-SER with the academician and practitioner that form multidiscipline science, have experience in researches that can be support sustainable development of tropical islands in Indonesia. The last is interaction between people – government – industry, through the relation of quadruple helix will make sure the research and solution that integrated and comprehensive for the issues of Indonesia.
